this is why i will try and install link and try remote file access on my brothers pc which is running on Win 7 just to see if it is my device, pc or what. I also unistalled link, ran cclean, cleared the registries of all bb related things, went into device manager and uninstalled all bb related things and installed link again. work group is HOME and it is the same on my Z10. i'm connected to my router/modem via cable. i could not connect and it said i had limited access. I've disabled virtual private network as it was messing with my internet connection. but like i said even with firewall off and the antivirus turned off i still see the folder empty. i have link and three other entries of bb link in my firewall. but i got no such warnings when i installed link. I agreed with the OP that it might be coz of a missing driver. whether i do it over wifi or mobile network. a blank white screen on my device when i open the pc folder. the name change is shown accoriding on the device and the pc link. one folder is on the Root directory and the other folder is on the desktop.i've tried install and uninstall several times, rebooted my device several times, renamed my device and the pc several times. i have MP3 and FLAC files along with TXT files in them. sharing is enabled on these folders and the sub folders.

i can also see the two folders that i have shared in the bb link software on the pc. my device is associated and linked with link. When i have the device set up as a USB Mass storage, it works, i have no issues with it, when it is turned off and i plug it to my pc link opens up as it should. when link is not in the mood, back up will fail. if link is in the mood it will allow me to back up my device. i see a blank page after the circle finishes going round and round. i see my pc on the device but when i access it. my only problem is wifi sync and remote file access. I spent many hours trying to make it work on PC because I hate to give up, but I am going to give up, that's too much stress. Run backups on both laptops with no problems. I installed the Link on two laptops, the older one running XP and the newer one running W7. The Z10 works flawlessly and there is nothing wrong with it. The PC would recognize the phone but the Link could not communicate with it. I installed and reinstalled it dozen times to no avail. I bought Z10 on February 5 and trying to fix the Link on my main PC ever since.
